Football season is here and you know what that means: dip season has arrived. With so many ways to snack, it might feel absolutely impossible to choose the dip that’s right for your Sunday night football party. But worry not! We’ve provided four stellar dip recipes that will make Football gatherings a cinch.
Greek Yogurt Dips
Healthy, zesty, yet refreshing, Greek yogurt dips are a classic favorite that offer a healthful twist to the traditional chip and dip combination. And the best part is that minimal ingredients are required for this flavorful Greek yogurt dip recipe.
To make this dip, combine Greek yogurt, finely diced cucumber, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, a pinch of smoked hot paprika and lemon juice in a bowl. Stir until combined and garnish with mint. Enjoy with pita chips, pretzel sticks, or even chicken skewers!
Hummus Dips
Hummus is among us, and the perfect snack for just about every occasion. While store bought hummus is everywhere now, there’s nothing as delicious as homemade hummus. Luckily, it’s easy to make as well! Combine 2 cans of chick peas, 1/4 cup tahini, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1/2 c olive oil, salt, pepper, and 2 garlic cloves into a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Garnish with olive oil and herbs for an authentic finish, and enjoy on virtually anything!
Guacamole Dips
Holy guacamole! Nothing screams football like creamy, mean, green guacamole dip. Slap it on a burger, dip it with a chip or just eat it with your hands. Who cares? It’s delicious.
To make guacamole, start by taking 1/2 of a red onion and dicing it finely. Next, take 2 cloves of garlic and mince them. Thirdly, take a roma tomato (slightly firm might work better) and dice it into cubes. Place into a bowl. In a separate bowl add the insides of 4 ripe avocados, and mash with a fork to your desired consistency. Stir in the onions, garlic, and tomatoes. Add salt and pepper to taste, and finish off with lots of lime and cilantro.
